The year is 1968 and it’s been a thrilling week rehearsing at the NBC studios for the live telecast of the Pete and Keely Reunion Special! They’re America’s Singin’ Sweethearts and – no matter what you may have read in the tabloids – Pete ‘n Keely are getting along just fine!
This Off-Broadway hit, playing at Coronado’s Lamb’s Players Theatre, is packed with classic favorites like “Besame Mucho,” “Secret Love” and “Fever” as well as great new songs. Featuring San Diego favorites Eileen Bowman (Guys & Dolls) and Phil Johnson (The Man Who Came to Dinner), Pete ‘n’ Keely is a warm-hearted and hilarious return to a special time in America’s history.
“Sonny and Cher, Steve and Eydie, Lucy and Desi … somewhere in that blur of showbiz duos that crossed TV screens a few decades ago, it almost seems as if there might’ve been a Pete ’n’ Keely.”
San Diego Union-Tribune, January 15, 2013
