Mah Jongg: Learn, Play, Win! Thursdays at 9:30 a.m.Our Mah Jongg group is having a wonderful time getting together to enjoy this ancient game of fun and skill. We would welcome starting up another game or two and need four or more players to get started.  Whether you want to learn how to play, you need to brush up on your skills, or even if you are a seasoned player, we would love to have you join us.

Everyone will need to have a 2011 Rule Card. If you don’t have one, you can go to the National Mah Jongg League’s website, order it online, download the order form and mail it off with a check, or call them directly at (212) 246-3052.

Your ideas can happen…

It was because of a suggestion from our congregants that we began this program.  Now we’re playing Mah Jongg!  We are always looking for new programming ideas.  Get in touch with Beth Klareich, Program Director, at program@tiferethisrael.com or by calling 619 697-6001, ext. 108.

Mah Jongg Wish List: Can you help us?

Mah Jonng Set from the British SiteWe could use a few items to get going. If you are able to donate any of the following items we would be so grateful:

  • Mah Jongg Sets: If you have a set that you are no longer using, we would love keep a few on hand so no one has to schlep.
  • 3 round table cloths

But Wait! There’s More!

Thank you to the member who alerted us to an article in the Wall Street Journal about the resurgence of Mah Jongg. In the article, they mentioned the National Mah Jongg League; Project Mah Jongg at the Museum of Jewish Heritage; and Where the Wind Blows, an online Mah Jongg retailer.
