Chanukah-2014-Web-v2

Chanukah is a time of joy and celebration. Family and friends join together to recall the victory of the Maccabees and the miracle of the oil.ChanukahEntertainersWeb

Celebrate with us! Candle lighting, singing, eating (latkes, applesauce, salad and donuts) and entertainment will all be included. Sophia Isadora Academy of Circus Arts will provide jugglers, stilt walkers, a contortionist, tumblers and comedy to make this a memorable gathering. Be sure to bring a chanukiah (Chanukah menorah) and 7 candles to share our candle lighting.

The Sophia Isadora Academy of Circus Arts (SIACA) was founded by Cheryl Lindley and Rogelio Lopez and grew out of experiences associated with the Fern Street Circus. Cheryl Lindley, President of the SIACA, explored commedia dell’arte in the mid-1980s and has appeared throughout the world performing circus acts. Learn more now.

Tikun Olam: Social Action at TIS

Make the holiday special for others

We’re asking everyone to consider making a donation to one of the many projects highlighted by Jewish Projects during Chanukah. Our former Executive Director, Nivi Rahm, is working with Jewish Projects in Israel and we have been working with her on this partnership.

Visit our Tikun Olam page to find out more about Jewish Projects many opportunities.

Celebrate the 6th Candle Together

Sunday, December 21st, approximately 7:00 p.m.

Join an international social network lighting of the chanukiah. Whether you’re at home or still lingering with us after the TIS Chanukah celebration, gather your family and friends and experience a unique opportunity on Facebook and Twitter. Jewish Projects will be rallying many of the people they touch through their generosity and sharing the lighting of the sixth Chanukah candle with all who join in the experience. To participate, “Like” Jewish Projects on Facebook or find them on Twitter at twitter.com/jewishprojects.
