Monthly Souplantation Lunch

“News & schmooze” with Sisterhood at 11:30 a.m. after our general board meetings (typically on the fourth Monday of each month). Meet at the Souplantation on 9158 Fletcher Parkway, La Mesa. You can purchase Souplantation Scrip from Sisterhood.

Sistahood Speakeasy!! Follow Up

It truly was a fantastic event!! Everyone who came is still raving about the evening. Thank you again to those that volunteered. Special thanks go to Marla and Olga Worm, who chaired and executed the event; Sandie Fionda for donating the gambling tables…they were a hit!; and to the committee and volunteers: Merle and Simon Lonstein, Ella and Ted Cashuk, Sharlene Berman, Judy Gumbiner and Judy and Jack Morgenstern. Jerry and Sue Hermes made great bouncers, and Bob Holloway was our fantastic MC. As always, the High Society Jazz Band was wonderful!!

Barbara and I wish to express our appreciation to all of you for such a fun evening. The time and effort that you put into planning this wonderful event was well received by all who attended. The High Society orchestra played our kind of music and we enjoyed dancing to their selection of tunes. The location was perfect enhanced by all of your decorative work. Each aspect of the night (i.e. old time movie clips on the wall, the entrance knock, password, decor and lovely costumes) added a flavor of its own. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Marla’s songs were beautifully sung and the dancers encouraged the group to dance to the 20′s tunes. The gambling venue highlighted some of our astute gambling members. They were teaching others how to play Black Jack or properly bet at the Craps table. I am sure many hours were spent obtaining those gifts for the raffles. All in all it was a wonderful evening and again we thank you for making it happen. — Gratefully, Bill and Barbara Sperling
