Please join us for a Family Selichot Program. This special evening will be a wonderful starting point for the High Holy Day season for your entire family. We will have a seudah shlishit (a light meal), and special programming for families with children up to b'nai mitzvah age.
Immediately following, we will meet Bob the Beekeeper who will teach all of us the importance of bees. Both adults and children will have the opportunity to then get a real taste of honey. We will sample several different honeys. Rabbi Rosenthal will offer some family-oriented ideas to prepare for the holidays and children will be invited to make a special take-home item to be used on Erev Rosh Hashana. We will conclude by 8:30 p.m. with Havdalah. Please RSVP by Tuesday, September 4th (just so we make sure we have enough materials) to Beth at (619) 697-6001 ext. 108 or by email to program@tiferethisrael.com.
Beginning at 9:00 p.m. we will be showing the film Tijuana Jews. Following the film there will be a discussion with descendents of several families highlighted in the film and the film's director Isaac Artenstein (at right). At 11:30 p.m. a traditional late night Selichot Service will take place.
