
Tifereth Israel Families have volunteered to house those who have been forced to evacuate. Please call the synagogue office (619-697-6001) if you know someone in need of our help.
Tifereth Israel will serve as a drop off site for supplies. We are in touch with UJF, JFS, and other community organizations regarding their ongoing needs. Currently the items needed include:
- Peanut Butter
- Canned Fruit and Vegetables
- Dried Fruit (Boxed or Bagged)
- Water Bottles
- Individual Juice Boxes
- Diapers (Specifically sizes 1 and 2)
- Baby Wipes
- Toiletries (Toothpaste, toothbrushes, Antibacterial gel and wipes, soap, etc.)
- Gas Cards
- Gift Cards
- Bedding and Towels
- Clothing
- Children’s books / toys
- Baby Food and Formula
If you are willing to assist us in distributing the collected items, please let us know. Additional drop off sites include:

- Congregation Beth El (water bottles and toiletries for military families only), 8660 Gilman Drive, La Jolla, CA 92037
The Jewish Community Foundation, The United Jewish Federation and Jewish Family Service have established a disaster fund. Funds will be held by the Jewish Community Foundation of San Diego in partnership with the United Jewish Federation of San Diego County. Relief will be provided through Jewish Family Service of San Diego and other community organizations. No overhead costs will be taken from the fund, and all dollars raised will help those in need. Checks designated for the Fund can be made payable to the Jewish Community Foundation and sent to Jewish Community Disaster Fund, c/o Jewish Community Foundation, 4950 Murphy Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92123. Credit card contributions may be processed online at www.jewishinsandiego.org.
