Flower Project

Tifereth Israel Synagogue has joined Jewish Women International (JWI) in its effort to help end domestic abuse by becoming a partner in JWI’s 10th Anniversary Mother’s Day Flower Project. In the 10 years since the project began, JWI has sent more than 2,000 beautiful Mother’s Day bouquets to hundreds of domestic violence shelters around the country, brightening this special day for thousands of women and their children.

Nearly 100 national and local organizations have joined the Flower Project coalition to date and we are very excited to be a part of this group! As a critical issue that affects women regardless of faith, we want to raise awareness about domestic abuse while delivering compassion and support to women forced to live in domestic violence shelters.

Contributing to the Mother’s Day Flower Project is a wonderful mitzvah that combines social justice and education with celebrating Mother’s Day. For each $25 donation you make to the Mother’s Day Flower Project, JWI sends out a beautiful Mother’s Day tribute card to a designated honoree thanking her for inspiring you to give. Each donation to the Mother’s Day Flower Project goes toward delivering bouquets of flowers to 150 battered women’s shelters throughout the United States in time for Mother’s Day — but also funds critical JWI programs that work every day to help battered women navigate the legal system; train women and girls to value and protect themselves; establish children’s libraries in shelters across the country, and much more.

Flower Project CardIn addition, for every $25 contribution you make to the Flower Project, Tifereth Israel Synagogue will receive $5 back from JWI. Contributions to the Mother’s Day Flower Project can be made by phone (202-857-1300) or online at www.jwi.org/fp — where you also can view the card JWI will send.
