Children's Choir

While experiencing both traditional and contemporary Jewish music, your child will explore their musicality while participating in a performance ensemble and taking pride in their own artistic accomplishment. It will be fun and your child will be enriched during this learning experience. The choir is open to children in grades K-4 (Torah School or Day School students). The practices will be held on Wednesdays between 2:15 – 3:00 p.m. (K-1) and 3:05 – 3:45 p.m. (2nd-4th) before Torah School. The choir is led by Mr. Eli Ghitman.

Eli GitmanEli Ghitman graduated from Western Connecticut State University with a B.S. in Music Education. He spent 2 years in the public school arena working with children from K-12th grade. He taught both choral groups and general music. Mr. Ghitman now resides in San Diego, where he teaches Pre-K at Silverman Preschool. He also works as the intern conductor for the San Diego Men’s Chorus.

Abraham Ratner Torah School at Tifereth Israel Synagogue strives to instill in our students the love and knowledge of Judaism through three major areas:

Torah, which creates in students a strong connection to our heritage. Our goal is for students to see Torah as an active living component in their lives.

Avodah, comes from a commitment of doing mitzvot, praying and practicing our living heritage. Our students learn best by applying what they learn in the classrooms in their daily lives. From Shabbat services to family programming, our programs are designed to extend the classroom into our homes.

Gemilut Hasidim, which is dedication to our Tifereth Israel community and the general community. Our students participate their meaningful social service projects and tzedakah projects that contribute to many agencies in Israel.
